The kids carved their pumpkins the weekend before Halloween. They went back and forth on what they wanted to carve (much like the costumes they changed their minds on daily). We ended up with a stormtrooper, which Ben carved mostly by himself. And Tux the Linux penguin for Cassidy, who really didn’t get the whole carving negative space concept (so I carved). We let Cassidy play with her carving knife on the top of the pumpkin.
Andy was roasting our black walnuts on the wood stove. They made the house smell SO good. Such a pain to open them though.
Jack and Colby enjoyed the fire too!
Monday morning Cassidy had her Halloween party at school. Pastor Bob has a tradition of carving the pumpkin and telling the story of how it’s like Jesus deals with us. Cleans out all our icky insides and puts a light inside us.
Playing the pumpkin patch game. Mrs. Power’s outfit was on point!
She loved the eyeball cookies and even picked one to bring home for Ben.
Ben was a mummy! He rocked this hand-me-down costume we got from a friend a few years ago.
He had a little costume parade at school Tuesday morning. It was neat to watch all the classes PreK-5th walk through the gym.
Tuesday night we headed into the village of Bloomfield for trick or treating. It was cold! We bundled up in winter coats, hats and gloves!
The fire station had cider, donuts and some games and activities. It was a nice break from the chilly weather outside.
This house went all out for the evening. Music, lights, bonfire and cookout. So fun!
