So this weekend was pretty fun and different! We were supposed to go camping at Letchworth State park with friends, but decided not to as it was supposed to pour Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Instead, we had dinner and a sleepover (yes, 7th grade style with a movie and everything) at their house Saturday night. We also went for a nice muddy walk through Darien Lake state park when weather cleared up for a little while.
Sunday morning we slept in and I even read for a little bit while Andy had some quality down time with his psp. We had a yummy pancake breakfast with fresh blackberries and then headed to Letchworth for the afternoon. It rained and misted for a while but certainly wasn’t the downpour they’d predicted. Friday and Saturday had pretty much been a wash out though, which made us feel better about canceling camping. Ironic, that we *wanted* it to rain at that point because it was consolation.
Letchworth was great even if things were still a bit wet and slippery. I’d actually never been there before, while our friends (originally from Ohio) had. One of those things, where you live so close to a place but you never bother to check it out. We had a great time sightseeing and hiking and the sun actually broke out towards the end of the trip. On the way home Andy and I enjoyed a double rainbow that stretched across the sky. Nice ending to a fun weekend!

A bit misty all day, but very pretty views none the less. We’ve been told it’s important to go back in the fall when leaves are changing color!
