Last week I made Apple Maple Butter using this recipe. Yes, I realize all my canning recipes seem to come from there, that and the Ball Book of Home Preserving. I really never thought it’d be so much fun, but it’s kind of addicting!
The apples I used had actually been frozen for a few weeks, we’d gotten them from our neighbor but I just didn’t have any time to do something with them. I decided not to peel the apples (just chopped them up) and I used a Food & Vegetable Strainer instead of the Food Processor/Food Mill combo. It turned out great, I’ve had some on bagels and english muffins and it’s really good. Plus, I used the cutest little jars! Although Andy was unimpressed by their cuteness, I think they’re adorable :)
