A friend gave me the book ‘Healthy Bread in 5 Minutes a Day’ for Christmas. The premise of the book is that making awesome ‘artisan’ bread doesn’t have to be complicated or take a really long time. You mix up a batch of dough that you can store in the fridge for a few weeks and any time you want to make bread you just grab a handful of dough, add what you need to make the specific kind of bread, shape it and bake.
I also joined the online baking group for the book and will be baking my way through it with other people across the country (and world). The schedule is pretty ambitious so I think I’ll be doing a modified version of it. Today I made the master whole grain bread recipe in the book and it turned out really well, crispy crust and soft interior. I’m looking forward to trying a bunch of the other recipes in the book too!
