I’m wondering if the island is actually a prison that holds Locke/smoke monster/bad guy captive. He keeps mentioning he’s trapped, and I wonder if he was banished to the island. On that note I wonder if Jacob isn’t the guardian of the island necessarily, but the guardian of smokie and making sure the island contains and keeps him there. There seems to be limits to his powers and he seems to need Sawyer’s help in getting off the island.

Andy and one of our friends also noted that none of the names on the cave wall were women, wonder if the guardian of the island to replace Jacob can only be male then?

I’m slightly obsessed…
