Friends of ours really liked the leaves and branches triptic painting I made for above our couch. They asked if I’d be willing to do a cherry blossom one for their family room and I said “Sure, but I’ve never done anything for other people before.” I think it turned out pretty good, and it was definitely a confidence booster that someone else thought it was decent enough to hang up in their house. They have really pretty green walls that the pink blossoms look nice on. These are just pics of it in my living room before I gave it to them.
Another friend saw pictures of the paintings and said “Heather I really like the art you did for their house.” I replied “Oh, thanks.” And he said “No, you don’t understand…I generally don’t like art.” Made me laugh :)
In other exciting news, I signed up for a photography class being taught by a friend of a friend. Since my photos kind of stink, I hope I’ll learn a lot. It’s not until the end of May, but I’m looking forward to it and hope there’s enough interest to hold the class. American Mum is the photographer, and I really like her work. Lighting is gorgeous and images are just so clean and crisp. Something to aspire to I suppose :)
