Computer Engineer

Andy let Ben play with parts from an old laptop. He loved ripping little pieces off and trying to stuff them back in other holes. Future engineer? Who knows, but he certainly had fun “fixing” it.

One more Christmas post

I forgot to post Ben’s Christmas pictures from this year! We tried playing with some Christmas lights.

But that wasn’t getting us very far.

Then we tried touching the tree. He was confused by this as the tree was supposed to be “no touch.”

There we go, a nice Christmas picture!

A friend sent me a picture of Ben’s 2011 and 2012 pics side by side and I started cracking up. I didn’t even plan it, but it’s like the same picture only a year later.

Christmases 4 & 5

This past weekend we headed home to spend our Christmas with Andy’s parents and brother.

Uncle Jared gave Ben a bunch of dinosaurs. “Disaur!”

Grandpa built Ben a pretty awesome car ramp. Ben enjoyed putting cars and dinosaurs down it.

Andy didn’t really ask for anything for Christmas so he got money towards the kayak he wants!

Andy’s mom, brother, Andy and I all bought Andy’s dad a Nexus tablet for Christmas.

After spending time with Andy’s family, we headed to Justin and Kate’s apartment (conveniently across the street!)

Santa used Wegmans bags to drop off gifts this year.

Flying upside down with Poppy.

Watching videos on Nonna’s camera.

I believe that concludes the Christmas posts for this year :)

It snowed!

As in really, really snowed. We got around 2 feet in 24 hours!

We suited Ben up and took him outside to play in the winter wonderland.

He wanted to bring bear outside too. (Sorry, not happening)

I wasn’t sure what he’d think or if he’d even keep his gloves and hat on. You know how you try to plan some things with kids and it turns into a giant meltdown disaster where no happy family memories are made? That’s kind of what I was expecting with the snow, but he LOVED it!

Andy had snow blowed a path back to the firewood and Ben loved the little walkway.

The boys enjoyed digging some holes.

There was also a little bit of sledding.

Ben liked it as much as the snow, he kept saying “wheee!”

Our back yard is so pretty :) Although I’m thankful for daddies who like to play outside while mommies can stay inside!

Christmas #3 (Our Christmas)

by Heather | 0 comments

We finally had a white Christmas this year!

Christmas morning we just spent time together, the three of us. We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I made homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner. Ben really liked helping us unwrap gifts.

We gave Ben some geotrax train toys which he LOVES. Actually, a friend of ours gave them to us a few months ago because their kiddo had outgrown them. We were so thankful to be able to give them to Ben!

We’re not really sure who had more fun with the trains.

Little engineer.

Ben’s other gifts were a barn playset and some matchbox cars.

Andy said he saw this card and just had to get it for me. No, I don’t like Justin Bieber…but the card was pretty hilarious. And annoying, it sings a song when you open it and Ben opened and closed it all morning. My other gifts were fake Bieber concert tickets to go with the card, some skeleton keys, a coffee grinder, bag of some really yummy coffee beans and a bunch of Bath & Bodyworks stuff.

Happy birthday Jesus! (Yeah, I know he wasn’t really born on December 25th)

Merry Christmas anyway!

Christmas Eve

(Yes, there is going to be an excess of Christmas posts this year)

We went to the Christmas Eve service Monday night. Our church has these fantastic lights going in the parking lot, you can see them miles before you even get there.

The evening did not start out well as Ben didn’t want to sit still and stay in the row with us.

Once the performance started Ben was fine though. He liked the lights and songs, although he did ask “All done kissmas songs?” and requested we sing “Wheels bus” and “Eebee pider” (Itsy Bitsy Spider) instead :) After the carols, theatre performance and candlelight we headed out to the lobby for hot cocoa and the live nativity. Ben loved looking at the animals.

Kids could feed the animals too but Ben just seemed content to watch the cows and sheep.

The children’s pastor and his wife just had a baby and they were Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus this year.

We ended the evening at a friend’s house. Mr. Benjamin went to bed in the pack n play and we actually relaxed and enjoyed the company. We headed home around 10pm just as it started to snow! The snow made for a beautiful Christmas (that’s in the next post).
