Cassidy Joy is two and a half! She weighs 29lbs (53rd %), is 3 feet tall (48th %) and has a head circumference in the 82nd %. She’s growing out of 2T clothes and has started wearing some 3T.
She’s been sleeping great, 7am to 7pm with an afternoon nap most days. She’s still in her crib, thankfully she hasn’t figured out how to climb out of it yet (she does climb out of the pack n play when we travel). However she has been stripping all her clothes and diaper off and consequently peeing in her bed, so that hasn’t been much fun. She’s potty trained and wears undies during the day but has a diaper at night.
She’s a pretty good eater, but usually takes forever to eat her food. She’s using regular silverware and we’ve started letting her try open cups with a little bit of milk. She’s doing great, still a little messy but not too bad :) Some of her favorite foods are clementines, cheese, blueberries, pizza and of course anything chocolate.
She loves to talk, just like her brother. Although she’s very intentional about it and asks for exactly what she wants. She’s pretty intentional about most things she does and does everything on purpose. She can count to 10+ and enjoys counting things up when she sees them in groups. She sings her ABCs and knows most basic colors and shapes.
She loves books, princesses (Belle is her favorite, she calls it “Cutie and the Beast”), legos, stuffing tons of things in her Elmo backpack when we leave the house and of course her stuffed animal puppy (that used to be pink but is looking a little dingy brown these days). She also loves her brother even though she knows how to push his buttons. They both try and tattle on each other for “saying potty words” and will whine and complain if the other gets a better lego. They can also sit and play nicely, giggle back and forth and look at books together too.
Cassidy is such a fun, neat little girl. I’m loving her personality that’s coming out :)

Our last Christmas get together was with Andy’s parents, Jared, Becky and Maddie. We had such a nice time with you guys :)

Yeah, so it’s almost February and I’m still getting to the Christmas pictures…
We had a nice dinner and present time with my mom, Paul, Justin, Kate and Brielle a few days after Christmas.

The kids slept in ’til 8am, it was a Christmas miracle :) When Cassidy woke up and saw the tree she exclaimed “Oooh, presents!” We had a low key morning at home together (we’re headed out to visit family this weekend). One of my favorite moments was when Ben opened a gift of birdseed and peanut butter and said “Oh thank you I always wanted one of these!” Haha, he was super sweet, thanking us for all his gifts. He’s been wanting to make a bird feeder with pinecones he collected and now we have the peanut butter and birdseed to do it!

Andy and Ben received a little fossil dig set to do together.

The pirate princess!

Putting together some new Legos.

Their “big” gift this year was my Legos from when I was a kid. Thankfully my mom saved them and I was able to split them with my brother, giving us each a huge stash. The kids were so excited to dig through and find a bunch of new pieces.

The force is strong with this one. Awesome craigslist find for Ben *cough* mommy *cough*

Butterfly wings!

Dinosaurs and princesses!

Waffles or cashews?

The aftermath!

Cinnamon rolls, a Christmas tradition.

Merry Christmas!

I wrote a little Christmas play for the nursery kids at our church. They were each wisemen and decorated their own crowns a few weeks before our play. They did great on Sunday, it was super cute. I think my favorite part was when one little boy stood in front of the projector and the shadow of his crown took up the whole front wall :D When he realized what was going on he kept waving his hand in front of it trying to figure out where the light was coming from. Cassidy has been in love with her crown ever since and wears it throughout the day and whenever we go out! A few jewels have since fallen off but she still knows she’s royalty ;-)

A little tug on my sanity, but we did it! It actually wasn’t as messy as I thought it’d be and they had fun :)
