It was rainy and cold for Ben’s first day of school this year. We switched districts with our move, so he started 1st grade at a new school…but has been doing great. He’s Mr. Social anyway so I really didn’t have many concerns.

Light up shoes!

Bye Ben!!! Cassidy and I kept busy with groceries and the library while he was gone.

Excited to chat with big brother when he came home from school.

I made fudgy brownies for snack. But apparently set the after school snack bar too high, because he expected something like them for the rest of the week.

Cassidy started school the following week. She was excited to use the Frozen backpack she’d gotten for her birthday over the summer.

No camera.

Yes camera!

She’s doing a PreK program at a church in a neighboring town on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Tuesday we do her preschool library time and then Thursdays she still goes to daycare so I can get some work done.

Big kid!

Coupla cuties :D

We spent Labor Day weekend with my mom and Paul. The first afternoon we were there the kids got to play with friends (and cousins) at the playground behind the cottage.

That weekend was also Clamorama! My mom’s neighbors host the event annually with a big band, beer and clams! The clams were all gone by the time we got there, but we were ok with that ;-) The kids had fun dancing with the music, they’d never experienced a live show like that before.

The next morning, a friend down the lane invited us all over for a petting zoo! I swear not every weekend at the lake has beautiful sunsets, big bands and farm animals…but we certainly did have a fun time :)

We had Cassidy’s 4th birthday party at our old house this summer. Amidst packing, boxes and the craziness it was such a nice time with friends and family. The last shindig at the old place!
She had a princess cake with a princess crown and I think she enjoyed feeling special!

Putting Lego sets together the next morning in their jammies :)

Over the summer Cassidy did swim lessons for the first time. She took the Tot class offered for 3-5 year olds that introduces them to the water. There’s a cute little “tot dock” that lets them splash around and play with toys while a lifeguard supervises. Cassidy did great and is already asking when she can do swim lessons again!

The day before we left Hawaii my dad and Leslie’s church had a big picnic on the beach. There was so much delicious food and lots of fun with some great families. Several people were also baptized in the ocean too! It was such a perfect afternoon!

Hawaii we love you! Dad and Leslie, we love and miss you guys so much!

Until next time!

Cassidy had the chance to do a dance class through daycare. She only goes one day a week but they were so great, scheduling the class on the days she came. The recital was held a few weeks ago in Brockport and it was kind of the cutest thing ever! Cass was so excited to wear her outfit, Ben told her she looked “so beautiful” when she came out of the bathroom with it on. Shhh, don’t tell anyone I had to pinterest how to do ballerina hair.
Cassidy’s little friend Graham from daycare was also in the performance, he was so cute! I’m so thankful my mom, Paul and Andy’s parents were able to join in Cassidy’s special day. We enjoyed ice cream together afterwards too!
