We went to a picnic at a friend’s house this week. They have a beautiful woodsy property and the weather was perfect. Good food, good company, we had a great time :)
My dad and Leslie rented a cabin on Keuka Lake for a week. We headed down and spent a few days with them, Gabby, Danielle, Chris, Justin and Kate. Kayaking, fishing, board games, swimming, eating and all sorts of family fun. Long post with pictures in random order :)
I finally took a few videos off our video camera and posted them to youtube! The oldest being from Ben’s second birthday (yikes, we’re coming up on his third in a few months!) There’s nothing truly spectacular here, so watch (or don’t watch) at your own risk.
Next up are the trains we gave Ben for Christmas of 2012. Please excuse the terrible editing job I did on the videos ;-)
And then Andy reading to Ben one night, sometime around February 2013 I think. Actually this one is cute if you turn up the volume, Ben knows the words to this book and will read them when you turn the page. Andy is being particularly silly though :-P
Finally this one from a few weeks ago. Ben picked out this fire truck for a $1 at a garage sale and we made the mistake of putting batteries in it.
We didn’t get to go to the “regular” reception at the swanky Statler Hotel in Buffalo, but we were able to attend the Hindu wedding reception. Saris everywhere!
The bride and her mom (Andy’s cousin and aunt).
One of the beautiful families that were there.
These little ones made quick friends and were out on the dance floor all night.
In fact, dancing seemed to be the main event of the evening.
Kunal and Rachel watched while numerous friends and family gave performances for them.
They joined in for some dances.
And just clapped and enjoyed others.
The wedding party of bridesmaids and groomsmen after dancing.
Andy’s parents at dinner. We ate so late (9pm, after arriving at 6pm). Most of the Indian party goers didn’t seem to mind, but we were starving. The food was…interesting…haha, I think it was just too strong and spicy for me. And things were dyed interesting colors (green chicken and bright red fish anyone?)
My favorite photo from the reception night…the fabrics, colors, sights, sounds and people were amazing. There was actually another event we didn’t attend that weekend, called the Mendhi, where guests hands were intricately decorated with henna. This is Rachel and one of her bridesmaids, SO pretty!
