Casey Thomas

Last weekend we went to Casey’s baby dedication. There was a really nice service at Heather and Eli’s church where they shared their hopes and intentions for their little one. Family and friends were encouraged to partner with mom and dad in the journey ahead. We were honored to be a part of the celebration :)

Week 19

It’s a girl! We had our ultrasound this week and I was totally surprised, I thought for sure it was a boy. I suppose you only really know for sure once kiddo is here, but everything is looking good. They weren’t able to get all the pictures of the heart they needed (angles just weren’t right) so when I go back again next month I’ll get another ultrasound.
Blood pressure is good, my usual 130/80. It’s slightly on the normal/high end so we’re keeping an eye on it. I’m feeling good though, working out at the Y and keeping up with the Benjamin. He actually came with us to the ultrasound and was fascinated by all the monitors and computers. I’ve told him “there’s a baby in my tummy” and he just looks at me like I’m nuts. And then Andy told him “Mommy ate a baby”…thanks Andy…
Definitely starting to notice the belly more as I bend over and grab things, but it’s not too much in the way yet. So weird to think of “it” as a girl now. I don’t really know how to do princesses, dresses and braids…but if she’s into that, then we have time to figure it out :)

Winter Wonderland

While we didn’t exactly get snowed in from the winter storm this weekend, all the snow certainly was beautiful. We only got about a foot, but it came down hard and fast on Friday. Thankfully Andy worked from home as the roads were terrible. The boys enjoyed a bit of time outside this weekend before it started to melt on Sunday. So pretty!

Handy Andy

The dishwasher started acting funny and wouldn’t finish its cycles. Andy opened her up and had a look.

He found a few common issues other people had while troubleshooting online. The manufacturer wanted people to buy a new control board for $150 to fix the problem. Andy found a bad solder joint that was the problem on the board.

5 minutes later, all better. I’m so thankful for Handy Andy, without him we’d have to call someone to fix it, like…normal people do…

The only down side to being married to an evil genius, is that one of our bedrooms downstairs looks like this. Where’s Waldo? And that’s not even the garage with all the power tools and heavy equipment ;-)
