We finally had a white Christmas this year!

Christmas morning we just spent time together, the three of us. We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I made homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner. Ben really liked helping us unwrap gifts.

We gave Ben some geotrax train toys which he LOVES. Actually, a friend of ours gave them to us a few months ago because their kiddo had outgrown them. We were so thankful to be able to give them to Ben!

We’re not really sure who had more fun with the trains.

Little engineer.

Ben’s other gifts were a barn playset and some matchbox cars.

Andy said he saw this card and just had to get it for me. No, I don’t like Justin Bieber…but the card was pretty hilarious. And annoying, it sings a song when you open it and Ben opened and closed it all morning. My other gifts were fake Bieber concert tickets to go with the card, some skeleton keys, a coffee grinder, bag of some really yummy coffee beans and a bunch of Bath & Bodyworks stuff.

Happy birthday Jesus! (Yeah, I know he wasn’t really born on December 25th)

Merry Christmas anyway!

(Yes, there is going to be an excess of Christmas posts this year)
We went to the Christmas Eve service Monday night. Our church has these fantastic lights going in the parking lot, you can see them miles before you even get there.

The evening did not start out well as Ben didn’t want to sit still and stay in the row with us.

Once the performance started Ben was fine though. He liked the lights and songs, although he did ask “All done kissmas songs?” and requested we sing “Wheels bus” and “Eebee pider” (Itsy Bitsy Spider) instead :) After the carols, theatre performance and candlelight we headed out to the lobby for hot cocoa and the live nativity. Ben loved looking at the animals.

Kids could feed the animals too but Ben just seemed content to watch the cows and sheep.

The children’s pastor and his wife just had a baby and they were Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus this year.

We ended the evening at a friend’s house. Mr. Benjamin went to bed in the pack n play and we actually relaxed and enjoyed the company. We headed home around 10pm just as it started to snow! The snow made for a beautiful Christmas (that’s in the next post).

Sunday we visited with my mom and Paul and his side of the family.

Ben wanted to share his Christmas cookie with Paul.

Pat and baby Natalie.

Brody did not appreciate being dressed up as Santa.

Champ is such a big dog but he was so good and relaxed with everyone there.

Ben enjoyed having a big brother to play with for a little while.

We had such a fun night. Thanks to Trisha and Ben for hosting :)

This week we received a Christmas package from out of state friends. Among the goodies inside were snowflake shaped crayons made from candy molds. They were so pretty!

Ben loved holding them, stacking them and coloring with them. Andy even got in on the action!

This past weekend my dad, Leslie and kids stayed with us for our Christmas. We just relaxed and enjoyed time together Saturday, then Sunday we did brunch and presents.
Watching Elf. “Cotton headed ninny muggins!”

Kitties checking out the presents.

One of Ben’s presents was a talking dinosaur. Everyone wanted him to show them how it worked but he was paranoid everyone wanted his toy. (He’s recently picked up the “Mine” syndrome). So he ran into the other room to play with his new dinosaur by himself, silly boy.

My dad loves the movie Despicable Me so we got him an army of Minions. Cutest movie ever :)

I blew up and framed this picture I took of my dad and Ben. We gave it to my dad and Leslie for their house.

So excited that most everyone was able to be together for our pre Christmas Christmas. Love you guys!
