Snowy Day

***UPDATED*** I forgot he says “ducky” and “frog” (fog) too. And he knows a “ducky” is a “bird.” Ok, done bragging :-P

Today’s weather was cold and snowy. We’ve been stuck inside all weekend so this afternoon Ben and I headed to an activity gym at one of the YMCAs so he could run around. It’s called the “Adventure Center” and has a ton of foam blocks, balls, slides and Chuck E Cheese type climbing towers. Unfortunately you’re not supposed to take pictures (respecting privacy of other families there). But we had a lot of fun and it was good to run around together :)

Ben learned how to say “snowing” today. Although it comes out as “nowing”

In some of our warmer weather adventures we’ve also encountered bugs and he loves saying “boogs”

Oh yeah, we’re big into Thomas the Tank Engine now. Apparently Sesame Street is SO last month.

Super Mighty

Mighty Taco (a mexican fast food restaurant from Buffalo) finally came out our way! This week they had the grand opening of a new store a few towns over. I heard from friends that both the drive thru and in store were packed all week, so we waited until today to check it out. I waited 15 or 20 minutes at the drive thru, not too bad considering how busy it still was. Mighty Taco is soooo yummy, but honestly it’s not like the best mexican food I’ve ever eaten. I love Chipotle and really miss a place called Don Pablos that isn’t around anymore. I think Mighty Taco just reminds me of home and of being a teenager (simpler times). And they do have loganberry, which is another Buffalo favorite (raspberry/blackberry flavored drink). All in all, I’m so excited it’s out here :) We ordered our usual today and had happy tummies.

Andy – 2 Super Mighty’s, wheat tortilla, medium sauce

Heather – Combo #1 (1 Super Mighty with mild sauce and sour cream, nachos, cheese and medium loganberry no ice)

…on the Sausagemobile! Andy pretty much has everything wired up and installed that he planned. Including extras like LED front and rear lights and a few extra buttons that light up just for fun. It’s not quite sausage ready, but he’s getting there. Oh Benjamin, I don’t really know if your daddy is doing this just for you…

Today I took a calligraphy class offered through a community art education group. It was held at RIT and taught by one of my old professors. I had a lot of fun learning more about letterforms and typography, although it was a lot harder than I thought it’d be. It was also weird being “back in school.” My friend Heather took the class with me and we even carpooled, just like old times!
