Give the people what they want

Leslie you asked for it, here’s more Benjamin. Five minutes and twenty seconds of Ben being Ben. I apologize in advance for my annoying mommy voice and shaky camera work. Enjoy:

His new words are sock (sssssck), shoe (sssssh), ball (ba) and yeah (ya). So close to walking but he hasn’t let go of anything yet, Mr. Cautious. He LOVES bath time and will crawl away naked from the changing table to the tub. I think we may be moving towards one nap (darn) but there’s no real pattern to napping/refusing naps so I still keep trying for two. Oh and the tupperware drawer is way more fun than any of his toys. New house rule is, wash tupperware and measuring cups before use because you never know whose mouth they’ve been in.

Just the two of us

My mom and Paul took Ben this weekend and we partied it up. Ok, that was lame…but Andy and I did have a fun weekend together! Thanks for watching the little man, guys :)

The carpet was installed in the office downstairs. Yeah, exciting.

Andy put together his old desk for me. Without directions, very impressive!

Friday night we made a lobster dinner for ourselves. The kitties liked playing with them, kind of sadistic, I know.

Saturday, Andy went hunting and I baked cookies with some girlfriends.

img-1865sm

We exchanged lots of goodies!

Sunday afternoon we went to the gun range. My first time firing the shotgun, it has quite the kick back!

img-1876sm

The .22 was a lot of fun too!

Sunday night we headed to the cottage to pick Ben up. We made gingerbread houses with family too :)

Ben even got over his fear of Uncle Justin and The Beard!

Eyeballs Part 3

One month after my strabismus surgery and I wanted to share a video update with you. I also found a video that does a pretty good job of explaining the role of eye alignment in seeing 3d (just the first half is really relevant). I think it’s incredibly fascinating stuff! I told Andy if I wasn’t a graphic designer I should have gone to be an ophthalmologist…not that you’d want me doing surgery on your eyes. That whole math thing would get me every time :)

Thanksgiving 2011

A few days late, but I wanted to share our Thanksgiving this year. We headed down to Andy’s Aunt and Uncle’s house and spent a few nights in their log cabin home. I met Andy’s cousin Dan, his wife Addy and their three kiddos for the first time, they came up from South Carolina. Ben has three (3!!!) teeth coming in and got a bit of a diaper rash in the disposables we use when traveling, so he was Mr. Miserable, poor guy. Overall we had so much fun with family this weekend though!

Ben gets to meet chickens for the first time.

He wasn’t quite sure what to think of them!

Silver is half blind but received a lot of extra attention from Leah.

img_1738sm

Ben enjoyed playing with (chewing on) all new toys

Great Uncle Bill (Andy’s dad) reads to Daniel and Jenna.

img_1727sm

Andy’s Uncle is a hunter and their home is filled with animals he’s gotten.

img_1752sm

Andy even went out hunting one morning but still didn’t see anything, poor guy.

I realized I missed a few pictures of people (sorry guys!) but we had so much fun. Dan and Bonnie, thank you for opening your home to us and for some great memories! Even if the turkey thawing on the porch got eaten by a feral cat the night before! Don’t worry, they picked up two more turkeys just in time :)

Easton James

Let me preface this post by saying I’m not a newborn photographer. My friend Heather and I just wanted to give our friend Anna a ‘new mommy’ present. We did a photoshoot with her little man Easton James (love that name). Heather played art director and brought all the props while I played photographer.
