Another ongoing project around here is slowly replacing all of the 60s interior doors. They’re all an ugly ugly orange color and most have giant gouges or dents. We didn’t quite realize the process for new doors would take us so long to complete, but we’re slowly making headway. Two doors are officially finished, with all the rest in various stages of completion.
Andy has to measure, cut down the doors and sand them. I put prestain on, then stain, then polyurethane. Andy sands again and I polyurethane again, then Andy bag sands them. To install them we’re having to take out the door jambs which are fit to the old doors. We bought new jamb/trim and sometime I’ll get around to painting them and Andy will nail them in the door frames.
I also started repainting the exterior house trim this week, foolishly maybe. Like we needed to start one more thing! It really needed it though, all the old paint is starting to peel off and the wood is getting exposed. Not good. I’m betting it’ll take all summer to finish as well…
