Today Andy and I headed into the city for the marriage of a good friend of mine to her fiance. He’s in the Army and getting deployed and they wanted to get married before he had to leave. They wrote their own vows and it was very sweet to be there to see them ‘really’ start their life together. It was the perfect afternoon in a very pretty park and I’m thankful we got to be a part of their special day.
It’s not the first time a close friend has gotten married before the Mr. was deployed in the Army (only to have a full ceremony with all the family later). So many in my generation are connected to this war in some way or another, and it’s very unsettling. That said, it was still a very special afternoon for Allison and Mike. Congrats you two, we love you!
