This past weekend my dad came and helped us with house stuff. He finished up insulation in the office down stairs while Andy finished wiring. Next Andy has to hook up the air ducts and shim out the ceiling…but then it’s all ready for dry wall :) What, doesn’t your home office look like this?

My dad and I also went blackberry picking at Veggie Andy’s and brought home enough for me to make pies and jelly. I have the berries in a drip bag right now to collect juice for jelly. I made a pie last night intending to freeze it (I was really excited about being able to pull it out sometime over the winter) but after it finished baking I realized, duh, I’d made it in the glass pie dish. There was no way to transfer it to a freezable pie tin without destroying the thing, so I guess we’ll just have to eat it now ;-)


Last weekend Andy’s parents and brother came and helped us out with the garage (and painting the front entrance!) The garage is almost finally not ghetto :) Well, except for the grass in the driveway. Every year we say “oh next year we’ll get the stone driveway paved.” Next summer rolls around and the thought of forking over 5k for a driveway seems awful, so we’ll just stick to mowing our driveway for a while :)
