Numbers

I can honestly say before pregnancy I paid little attention to my blood pressure numbers. It was just something nurses did before you saw the doctor, no big deal. Now, it’s kind of a big deal. In case you’ve been following, here’s an update on the whole situation. My blood pressure has been medium-high the whole pregnancy but in the last few weeks it’s really skyrocketed. I’ve been monitored, poked and prodded and provided more pee samples than I can count…all to rule out preeclampsia, toxemia or HELLP.

Turns out it’s pregnancy induced hypertension, and it’s not affecting baby at all which is good. The dr decided to put me on blood pressure meds (which are safe for baby and I) to help lower my numbers. I’m 37 weeks so he’s technically full term, but the longer we can keep him in there developing, the better. I’m also on bed rest for the time being, which honestly hasn’t been horrible so far ;-) I know I’ll get sick of it soon though. Just wanted to give you an update of what’s going on!
