UPDATED: Official time was 33:58 :)

I ran my first 5k today! A bunch of ladies from the Y signed up to run the Pink Ribbon Run in support of the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. I’d been doing the Couch 2 5K program but hadn’t finished it yet…so I wasn’t sure how I’d do with the full 3+ miles. My goal was to run the whole time and I actually did!

It was definitely a learning experience! Waiting at the start with hundreds of other people, the clog of runners before everyone spread out, learning how to not just run but judge where other people were, zig zagging in and out of others. Once I got in the zone and everyone started their own pace it was much easier. I’m not sure what my official time was but I saw 34:52 as I came across the finish line. Not the fastest for a 5k, but I’m happy with it :)
