I get email alerts for art/teaching jobs in my area and sometimes I think “Oh that would be SUCH a fun job.” Then I get a little depressed that in reality, it’s kind of like a ten year plan. Part of me wonders why I “taunt” myself with listings I can’t do anything about right now…but at the same time I like seeing them and getting little reminders that I do have a plan. I get to be stay at home mom now in this season, so I’m enjoying it and experiencing as much of it as possible because it isn’t going to be forever. And I do get to be Ben’s teacher and help him explore his little world which is pretty darn cool!

Speaking of 10 year plans, Andy and I have been talking about buying land someday. Not now, funds just aren’t there, but what we’d like to do is get 20-30 acres somewhere where land is cheap. Northeast or south of the city really has a lot of country/wooded possibilities for hunting, cabin, camping, outdoor activities. I really love the town we’re living in now but land is SO expensive (like 3 times the price you can find it in other areas around here). Plus with great schools here, I think we’d stick around until kids are grown and just use the land as a family getaway. Then maybe build a home there someday. All the plans of mice and men though, right…but still fun to think about.

Two Wegmans pet peeves…1) People who pay with checks. Ahhhhh, seriously who does that anymore? It takes forever and a manager has to come over and do everything. 2) People who don’t weigh and scan their produce in the produce department. So the poor cashier has to ask what kind of vegetable it is and flip through their little book to find the number and then weigh and price it. 7 times. Because you could not be bothered to deal with your own 7 vegetables.

I love my coffee grinder and whole beans that Andy gave me for Christmas. Unfortunately I think I’ve become a coffee snob and it’s spoiled all other coffee for me. It’s like opening a brand new, fresh, amazing smelling bag of coffee every time I have a cup! And yes, don’t worry, 1 cup of coffee is perfectly fine while pregnant. I was never a 5 cup a day person anyway.

Andy just referred to Adam Levine of Maroon 5 as my “hot tattooed man throb” lol, I suppose I won’t deny it…

We’ve jumped into potty training (again, ish). A few months ago was more of an introduction to the potty and this is what it is for. This time we’re going commando and using only undies and he’s doing really, really well. As in, I’m shocked how well! More on this later if it sticks. If it doesn’t, I’ll go cry in the corner again.
