Your ornaments are history.
^ I saw that on a Christmas card the other day. It had a cat on the front smirking :)
We had a really nice Thanksgiving visiting family back home. We headed in Thursday morning for 12pm dinner and spent the afternoon with Andy’s family. We had second dinner at 6pm with my dad and family at my brother’s girlfriend’s house. It was nice hanging out with her family, I hadn’t really spent much time with them before. And my dad and Leslie had never met them (amazing since Justin and Kate have been seeing each other for 4ish years). Then Friday we spent a relaxing day with my mom and Paul and made gingerbread houses. Andy “helped” decorate ours. All I have to say is next year, I get my own gingerbread house…

We’re getting better at traveling over night with Ben. He does great in the car and falls right asleep, it’s just the packing everything he could possibly need part that is the hold up. That and making sure he’s changed and fed right before we leave to get the maximum amount of time in before he needs to eat again (every 3 hours). Sleeping in the same room with him has proven interesting too. At home he’s happily in his crib in the nursery, which is right next to our bedroom. While traveling he’s in the pack ‘n play or spare crib in the same room with us and I wake up for all his little squeaks and sighs in the middle of the night. He sleeps great, I do not ;-)
We decorated for Christmas this weekend too. It’s amazing how much you don’t get done with a little baby, but we managed to finish over two days. Andy put icicle lights up on the house and I strung white lights around the giant lilac we have up front. The icicle lights failed a few years back when we hung them from the gutter. The wind blew them into the gutters where they froze and eventually broke. This year Andy put them up under the roof line, against the house and hopefully they will survive. They look really pretty, I think I have a new favorite for outside. The tree got colored lights this year. In the great colored lights vs white lights debate…I have to say I think the colored lights are growing on me! They’re a lot of fun, while the white ones look classy outside. I really need to learn how to take nice pictures of Christmas lights this year, I never ended up practicing with them last year. Ben loves the lights too, he just stares at them with big buggy eyes.
Andy still hasn’t gotten a deer, poor guy. It seems like every one of our friends got one this weekend. My friend Anna shot an 8pt buck and asked if we’d like to split the meat with them. We said sure since there’s only a few more weekends Andy can go out hunting. I think it’s so awesome that some women hunt, I’m not sure I could do it. I love target shooting with my bow but I’m not sure I could kill a deer. They’re such pretty, graceful animals. Although they are yummy ;-)
