My non swastika quilt

When I first laid these blocks out I was so happy with how the pattern looked…until I realized I’d just designed a swastika quilt! So I rearranged the blocks and think I’m ready to start piecing the new design together. I wanted to make a “who cares” quilt and just use a bunch of fabrics that I liked regardless of how well they went together. I ended up with “pattern overload” blocks and a lot of random textures and shapes :) There will be alternating light and dark big blocks separated by fairly solid brown strips that helps break up the pattern.

I have a bad habit of starting quilt projects and not really finishing them before I jump onto the next one. I’m promising myself I’m going to finish this. It’s just that I’m not very good at quilting yet, so I get discouraged when things get too hard. Then I take months to actually start doing it again. Andy keeps reminding me I’m only going to get good if I practice and make myself do it. I know that, it’s just…I want to be super awesome at it right away :)
