I planted garden seeds with the kids today. We want to involve them in the process from planting to harvesting later in the summer, but if I’m being honest it was rather painful ;-) It was messy, took an insanely long time and I’m sure a handful of seeds didn’t end up where they were supposed to. Ben was fascinated with how small the lettuce seeds were. Cassidy just liked dumping dirt in the holes. The kids had fun though and it’ll be neat to have them a part of it all.

Over winter break we met my mom at the Brockport library for a preschooler dance party. I’d never been to that library before but Brockport is about halfway for each of us. I was really impressed with their children’s librarian and department. Ben had a ton of fun dancing and playing while Cassidy was just content to watch and look at books.

The kids and I made flubber! We used this recipe and it actually turned out pretty good. Other crafty projects haven’t ;-) Ben loved the mixing and squishing. Cassidy, not so much.

We went to visit my friend Lexi down the road today. I was just planning on getting some eggs but asked if the kiddos could tag along too to see their chickens. The “Girls” as they’re called, have an awesome little penthouse coop built by Lexi’s husband. Complete with several nifty add ons (he’s an engineer).

Ben loved feeding them and Cassidy kept waving, smiling and saying “Hi, hi!”

The kids got to pet them too. Lexi’s son even brought one over to us since Ben kept scaring them away.

Thanks for letting us visit!
Ben had his first school concert! It was so cute, 3 or 4 PreK classes combined to sing some holiday songs in the auditorium. Ironically Ben’s favorite was the dreidel song ;-) He was such a ham on stage, smiley and doing all his hand motions. The teachers were great too, they had such patience with them and really helped make the whole event run smoothly. Looking forward to many more school concerts!
