Scribble and Scrabble

7 months

You’ve started crawling! It’s still a little awkward and you get frustrated sometimes, but you’re definitely doing it! You seem to like your new independence and enjoy exploring whenever you can get the arms and legs working together.

No teeth or copying words yet, but you do babble. You also make this funny clicking sound with your tongue and like to heave big sighs a lot. When we were at the doctor’s office, she was going over the list of things to expect in the next few months and you let out this huge sigh like you were so bored with the conversation.

We still nurse in the morning when you wake up, once mid-afternoon and then right before bed. You have two or three meals of solids during the day. You’ve tried carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, oatmeal, rice, bananas, applesauce and avocados. You’re not really a fan of the peas, but applesauce seems to help.

I’d have to say your favorite toy is the hair tie on my wrist or any kind of string you can get. Whether it’s the laptop power cord (ahh!), straps to your carseat and highchair or the kitty toy. The toddler cups, bowls and plates seem to be a hit to chew on too. So easy to please, hehe.

Mystery Flowers (Updated)

Can anyone tell me the names of these flowers?

^ Is it a Lily of the Valley? I have ones up front with similar flowers, but with broader leaves that I thought were Lily of the Valley. Like this pic. Where these ones are long and skinny. Are there different varieties? Another suggestion was they’re Summer Snowflake…

^ Creeping Thyme?

^ It’s really not a weed! I remember planting it last year (received from Andy’s parents)

but I don’t remember what it is…

House Tour

Earlier this week I did a video tour of the outside of our house. I had it posted for about an hour when Andy mentioned it was probably better to take it down because you could see our house numbers and street sign in it. So I have the video but you need the link to be able to view it. If you’re interested in seeing it send me an email and I’ll give you the link :) Below is the original post commentary.

Wow, it’s weird hearing myself talk. Anyway, just a little tour of the outside of the house for friends and family who haven’t been here yet.

Some things I thought of after I filmed it:

Yes, there are two driveways, it’s kind of silly. A paved one in the front of the house and a dirt/stone one by the garage.

We ripped out the front entrance, so the door and half round window aren’t original to the house. It originally had a grotesque shack on the front. In the image, the window on the right is a new one we put in as well.

I’m not really afraid it’ll snow again, I’m just lazy and haven’t gotten around to planting the seeds we started indoors. Well, I suppose it could still snow…

The house as a burn victim photo reference is this image.

The road we live on is a little busy and keeps getting busier the more new developments pop up around us. Kind of bummed about that. I’m not sure if a fenced back yard is something we’ll need to look into.

Projects

Believe it or not, it’s not all about Ben around here ;-) In our “spare” time, we get a few of our own little projects done. Andy spray painted his compressed air gun this weekend and I planted seeds and sprouts in our garden.

Ben feeds himself

A 3 minute video of Ben eating, try to contain your excitement ;-) At least it’s going better than the first food video!
