The week before Thanksgiving Ben’s class had a pilgrim feast in school. He loved the hat they made so much he wore it all afternoon and while we were out running errands.
Ben is really enjoying school, he always comes home singing the songs from class and telling me stories they read. His parent-teacher conference was a few weeks ago and I found out School Ben is very similar to Home Ben. He loves learning new things, is a very good friend to the other kids, gets super excited for new projects and generally loves life. He recognizes most of his letters (uppercase and lowercase), can count to 40 and is starting to put together words like “stop” and his name (which he can write). He also needs to be told several times to stay on task and reminded to listen while others are speaking and wait his turn ;-) He’s informed me he had to sit in time out several times because he was being “too silly and not listening to Mrs. G” *hangs head*
I wasn’t surprised at all by the meeting, Ben is a pretty young guy compared to his peers (October birthday) and this is his first school experience. Academically he’s super bright, emotionally and socially there’s room for growth. Looking forward to seeing him develop more this school year!
Thursday morning we headed in to Andy’s parents’ house for our Thanksgiving meal. We spent the rest of the afternoon with them, Becky, Jared, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Dan.

Becky and Jared announced the gender of their baby with a special cake.

It’s a girl!

Thanksgiving night it even started snowing, so pretty.

Friday afternoon I took the kids to my mom and Paul’s cottage for a visit.

Friday night we headed to Gabby’s apartment to spend some time with Gabby, Leslie and Danielle who were also in town. We had a picnic in the livingroom and enjoyed each others company.

A few weeks ago I went to see Shrek the Musical with a friend. It was put on by grades 7-9 and I was really impressed, I’ve never seen a middle school play done so well. A friend I went to school with is a teacher out here and turns out he was the producer of the show, which was kind of cool.
Our pastor’s son was in the performance which was the main reason I wanted to see it. I ended up finding seats right in front of them.

Jeremy was a knight the first night and then promoted to Captain of the Guard when another kid got sick the following night. Wish I could have gotten a better picture of him but lighting wasn’t the greatest.

We had our first real snow, thankfully not NEARLY as much as Bflo has been getting though. I suited the kids up and we headed outside. Ben loved making snowballs and carting them around in his sled. Cassidy was a little hesitant about the whole thing but put up with it until she started taking her gloves off and realized the snow was cold. Love these two <3

Ben and I went to watch my friend Anna’s hockey game last night. He loved the zamboni machine, thought the game music was pretty cool and was interested in the game until about halftime. I think it’s so cool Anna is part of the women’s community team, it was really neat to watch her play!
