And this is what happens if you don’t patrol your “prime advertising real estate” corner lot. Well actually, this is across the street because we don’t allow the carnage to happen on our side.

Our house had been vacant for a year before we bought it, and the summer we moved in there were 5 or 6 garage sale and real estate signs up at the corner. We promptly removed them and instituted a “no free advertising” policy. We actually own right up to the street anyway. I would be working outside and people would just drive up right in front of me, plop their sign down and drive off…without looking at me or gee, I don’t know, asking if it was alright.

I’ve wanted to put a sign up at the corner that says “See Homeowner to Rent Ad Space” – we’ll see if it happens some day ;-) In the mean time, the corner of our little acre will remain sign free.
