House update

Just thought I’d give you an update on the house stuff that’s going on here. We finished siding the sunporch and office (after construction this summer). I managed to finish painting trim all around the house before it got too cold. It’s a lovely shade of green that goes nice with the yellow house. I kept saying the old green trim was apologizing for being a color, it was somewhere between grey-green-puke and didn’t compliment any part of the house. I’m so excited this side actually looks like a real house now:

The part on the right with plastic wrap now has a nice little roof over it that Andy and his dad built. And below is Andy grinding down the door frame on the outside entrance to the sunporch. We found a really cool door to replace the old one, I’ll have to take a picture of it. It has 15 glass panels that let a lot of light in – important for a sunporch ;-)

As of right now, insulation is in the sunporch and office and they’re completely closed off from the outside. Tile board is down in the sunporch (we found tile to match the kitchen floor and I’m excited to see it in the sunporch too). And plywood will be going down soon in the office. Then Andy has to put in duct work and wiring for the two rooms since there’s technically no heat running to them. And then…the lovely task of drywall ;-)
