Thanks for the nifty title, Paul :) Andy and I celebrated our 5th anniversary this weekend by staying at a bed & breakfast in the city. My mom and Paul took Ben for his first overnight and we explored Rochester all the next day. It was SO.MUCH.FUN and I did better with the whole separation thing than I thought I would!
Sunday afternoon we met my mom and Paul halfway between our houses (about 30 minutes for us, 45 for them) and did the baby switch. I packed Ben an entire suitcase of diapers, extra clothes, warm clothes, cold weather clothes, toys, night light, baby monitor, hat, sunscreen, swim trunks, extra sippy cups, spoons, bibs and food. Uhm, can we say over prepared? The kid was probably set for a week, but you know how packing with babies is! After we said goodbye Andy and I headed to a park along the canal to do some geocaching. We found the cache and also stumbled on some party that we totally weren’t cool enough for (think Jersey Shore).
After hiking we drove into the city to check into the B&B. It was our first time at a bed & breakfast so I didn’t exactly know what to think, but our host was so friendly she put you right at ease. We stayed at The Edward Harris House in the Park Ave area and our room was beautiful! Kind of a whimsical, Alice in Wonderland feel. The bathroom was french inspired and very chic.

To be continued…when I have a chance to get to the rest of the photos :)
As an aside, when we first walked into the room and Andy was looking around he said “Now THESE are doors.” House nerd!
