Ben has the unfortunate nickname of sausage. So when Andy found a Powerwheels at the dump, he immediately started calling it Ben’s Sausage-Mobile (reference to the Bat-Mobile). Andy actually found two Powerwheels at the dump in varying levels of disrepair, but this particular one he’s taken to modifying. Ben LOVES the big boy truck, but isn’t really old enough to know how it works…so Andy pushes him around the yard in it. Fun for a few minutes, until Andy gets out of breath.

So he’s started to modify the Sausage-Mobile. He plans to make it radio controlled (so he doesn’t have to push it around), variable speed with forward and reverse, smart charging (allowing battery to charge to full capacity, not just charge for a set amount of time). He’ll be able to see how much current is being drawn and he’ll install a gas gauge attached to the battery that will show how much juice is left. Finally, he’ll add a safety emergency stop and circuit breaker to prevent fires.

Plans began tonight. Ben is one lucky little boy!
