While at the cottage we headed to Olcott for dinner and a car show.

We also went to the Olcott Beach Carousel Park, a super cute carnival for kids. Tickets for each vintage ride were only a quarter, pretty neat. Ben had SO much fun :)

We ended the evening with a stroll through Krull Park. It’s where Andy asked me to marry him :)

Lake weekend part 1

by Heather | 0 comments

We headed to my mom and Paul’s cottage this weekend.
IMG_8618sm

Ben was SO helpful with setting up the tent.
IMG_8596sm

There was a lot of Cassidy loving.
IMG_8597sm

She smiles now :)
IMG_8606sm

My mom saved our old Little People and Ben was so excited to play with “the peoples.”
IMG_8607sm

Andy discovered some blackberry bushes growing under the deck.
IMG_8622sm

The coolest piece of driftwood had washed up to the cottage.
IMG_8903sm

He still needs a name though.
IMG_8628sm

We also had the maiden flight of Andy’s quadcopter.
IMG_8911sm

Always tinkering with something!
IMG_8913sm

Andy also got a jet ski lesson from Paul.
IMG_8915sm

That night we enjoyed s’mores around the fire. If you were Andy, you enjoyed leftover chicken wings.
IMG_8833sm

The boys had the great idea to hang a sparkler from the chinese lanterns they were sending off.
IMG_8837sm

They did look pretty cool, and nothing caught on fire :)
IMG_8840sm

It was a beautiful evening.

Choo choo

I headed to Lockport with the kids (that still sounds weird, plural) to do a ride on train event. Mud Creek Railroad is a 1 1/2″ scale railroad club. We have 6000′ of main line track with sidings, engine house, turn table, bridges, tunnel, and a trestle. The plan is to have around 5 miles of track in the upcoming years. Andy’s parents heard about an open house they were having for the community and asked if we’d like to go.

It was SO cute and very well done, you could tell members of the club really took pride in their hobby and enjoyed showing everything off. Ben loved every minute :)

Master “suite”

by Heather | 0 comments

We finally finished the hallway and master bedroom downstairs! Andy had to scrape off the old floor tile in the hallway.
IMG_7473sm

And add some new drywall, this is the ceiling.
IMG_7790sm

Then there was spackling. Don’t let the smile fool you, he HATES this part.
IMG_7836sm

After the hallway was painted, Andy replaced the light. I’m in love with the one he picked. He had to work around the air ducts which were kind of a pain.
IMG_8138sm

The hallway isn’t that big but there was enough room to put in this little storage unit. It’s right outside the bathroom so it holds soap, towels and other extra things.
IMG_8332sm

View from the hallway into our new master bedroom.
IMG_8386sm

It’s a cozy little room.
IMG_8328sm

Our nightstands wouldn’t fit on the sides of the bed (told you, cozy) so we put them at the end and found smaller ones for the sides.
IMG_8343sm

I picked the room color from the wedding quilt my mom made us.
IMG_8341sm

This bedroom was originally Andy’s lair and painted what I call “painters tape blue.”
IMG_8135sm

We repainted the room and rearranged the closet system so it would work better for our clothes (instead of boxes of electronics and computer parts).
IMG_8384sm

View from the bedroom to the bathroom across the hall. Close enough to an attached master bath, I’ll take it!
IMG_8388sm

We actually bought a TV for the bedroom too! I know, it goes against everything Andy stands for ;-) Believe it or not all the flat screens he’s found at the dump were too big for this little spot behind the door. All the wires and computer are inside the closet behind the TV.
IMG_8377sm

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about having our bedroom on a separate floor from the kiddos (we have two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs). But I LOVE it! All the toys, diapers and flashing things are upstairs and we have our own little adult area downstairs. You can see the before, during and after photos of the room here.

B is for Bonnet

IMG_8416sm

My mom gave me a bunch of my old baby clothes and this little bonnet was with them. Cassidy won’t fit in it for much longer, but it is super cute!

My mom and Paul took Ben for a few days last week. He had some good big boy time with Nonna and Poppy and we got some one on one time with Cassidy.
IMG_8284sm

They of course had to visit with Cassidy for a bit before they left.
IMG_8281sm

So big!
